McCrory Brickwork recognises the importance and value of a skilled and qualified workforce and has hence supported the modern apprenticeship scheme for the past 8 years, endorsed by our on-going commitment to recruit 5-6 new apprentices on an annual basis.
McCrory Brickwork value the modern apprenticeship scheme as an effective way of attracting people into the construction industry and of securing the skilled workforce of the future.
Apprenticeships allow a young person to learn, work, earn and get qualified all at the same time. Apprentices at McCrory Brickwork are able to gain valuable work-based experience from qualified tradesmen whilst also attending Stockport College in order to complete their full Apprenticeship framework and achieve a National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ). There are two levels of Apprenticeship; Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships that are rewarded with an NVQ level 2 and 3 respectively.
Both Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships involve specific training in all aspects of brickwork and masonry construction. Apprentices also receive training in general key skills such as numeracy, communication and IT.
On completion of their Apprenticeship most of our newly qualified bricklayers remain, and have remained, an integral part of our workforce. This establishes and maintains all of our company core values including pride and loyalty at an early stage. For further information click on the logos below.
